Did you attend the ZPZ show at the Osaka Zepp in Osaka?

Dweezil and the band would love to read your reviews.

Please do not post in this thread if you did not attend the show.

My wife and I went to the first concert of ZPZ in Osaka, Japan.
I do not want to be stingy, the performance was NOT worth the money we paid. The ticket is 8500YEN and extra 500YEN for a drink.
We both enjoyed the songs themselves.

The most boring part of the show was the improvisation of the band members in the song Dupree's Paradice. Those were the times when the band's name should be Zappa Plays Zappa playes Non-Zappa music.

I had a good time listening to the guitar play of Dweezil.
But the lines that came out from his guitar last night was less than what he delivered on his CD's. He could have played much better.

Very sad thing was that the BEST guitar plays in the show were the ones of FRANK ZAPPA himself!!!

I do not spend my money to attend the VIDEO concert.

I AM VERY HAPPY to see RAY WHITE sing in front of me.
I also enjoyed the performance of Steve Vai.

In all, I have to say that my wife and I went to the AUTHENTIC live concert of the cover band.

Well, opinions are like a##holes; everybody's got one. Here's mine...

Dweezil: Great performances from you in Osaka and Tokyo. Your dad would be proud of your efforts, both as a guitarist and a bandleader.

Joe: Thanks for the tix, and if I ever need an air drummer, you're my man!

Billy: You bad man, you! Great gong show, both on and off the stage.

Aaron: Thanks for the passes. I'm surprised you remembered! And great subdued solo piece at the Tokyo show.

Scheila: As I said before, your solo from the Osaka show was amazing -- had everyone in the venue paying attention...especially the male audience members.

Pete: Great playing! You really rocked out even though you were sick as a dog.

Jamie: Great chops, too! Definitely preferred your Osaka solo to the Tokyo one.

Wait! There are a few of people I'm forgetting...

Ray: Awesome pipes and a class-act on and off the stage, as well.

Steve: Always a pleasure watching you perform. Wish you played a little longer in Tokyo.

Glynn: I don't care what you say. From where T-bone and I were sitting, the sound was much better at the Osaka venue. And I guess next round of beer is on me!

Frank: Thanks for leaving such an indelible mark on music history.

To All: Thanks once again for your performances AND hospitality. It won't be forgotten!

Music is best,

Zak

Thanks! ZPZ!

They are sometimes serious.
They are sometimes funky.
They are occasional Funny.
They are a little shy.
And, they overflow in the humour and creativity.
It is possible to perform while enjoying the phrase with a difficult
complex tune.
Groups of true musicians who are not mere players.

Dweezil!
You are the highest conductor for music and the soul of Zappa.
I wish sincerely to express my gratitude for courage and the decision
of you who determined the succession of the FZ music.

Concert!
Happy FZ 's Music of 160 minutes for me.
It is time thought not to be able never to hear by the time I die.
I hope until it is heard again when I am alive.
Because the world of the FZ music is too wide and deep.

Thanks!

See you next year!!!

The night with Zappa Plays Zappa in Osaka was like a dream for me, because I don't think there are any chance to hear Frank Zappa music live here in Japan.
The concert was so fantastic that I was sometimes moved to tears especially when I saw Frank play on the screen in harmony with Dweeze and his colleagues.
I like almost all the music played in the concert, but I was especially impressed with a classical number like G-spot Tornado which I think it is hard to play.
Off course, the rest of the music played was so splendid that time of two and half hours flashed by.
Lastly, I want to say how grateful I am to Dweezil and colleagues for inheriting Frank Zappa music and performing it in Japan after the interval of thirty years.
