Did you attend this ZPZ show at the Common Ground Festival?

Dweezil and the band love reading your reviews.

Please do not post in this thread if you did not attend the show.

i never had a chance to see frank live , but ;i have to say that dweezle has done his dads work great justice . everybody who was there was performing as if frank was right there with them . It was truely a work of art through and through , and my daghter of four could not stop dancing . thank you all for such a moving experience . its good to know that such great works of genius are still available live to the masses . it was a one of a kind perfomance . the only thing could take it up a notch is incorperating some new material from dweezle and the rest of the turkeys . Thankyou .

This was the second year I have seen ZPZ and the second year I walked away with a smile on my face. The band was Brilliant Spot on . It's so good to see the band enjoying playing and all the smiles . DZ You are going to surpass your father playing Gutair soon
Joe's Garage, Willy the Pimp,Muffin Man And bunch more that I will remember tomorrow all Kicked-Ass. Ray White What can you say you make Us Michiganders proud.
Now can I bitch ? OK. nothing against ZPZ About the venue, I guess I am getting to old to see bands in a venue like Common Ground. I like to sit and listen to the music not have people bounce around like a pin balls and get in the way of others. Dont mind if people come up and take pictures just get out of the way There are other people in this world respect others.
And one more thing, The Tea-shirts are not the size for us robust fans.

Dont get me wrong I loved the show like I did last year at Meadow Brook and the umpteen times I saw FZ .
Thank you DZ for doing what you do

I feel fortunate to have been able to hear last nights concert!
Having never been to a FZ concert, but a long time fan of his music (and sometimes performer of) it was a fabulous performance!
For me, it was inspiring to listen, as the passion for the music by the members of the band was palpable (and the audience as well)
Thanks to all involved
Music IS best
Music with integrity is even better!

Dear ZPZ,

Just wanted to say THANK YOU for a great show. This was my 4th ZPZ experience over the last 2 years but 1st with my 9 year old son. We had front row, stage right seats and he seemed to really enjoy the music. The best part for me, however, was when my son made his way to the opposite end after the show and got his shirt signed by the Dweez. The smile on his face when he came out of the pack will forever be embedded in my mind! Keep the shows coming and we will continue to enjoy.

Thanks again,
Mark Galliers

This was my 4th ZPZ show and they are each special on there own way. I had 5th row and thought the sound was gonna blow us away, but it didn't. Sound was really good for being that close so great job and hats off to sound engineer. Let me set the scene: It was a Tuesday night, the moon was dim and the band was tight. I took my girlfriend who was hooked after watching the new DVD I just got last week and ZPZ live impressed her even more. The band has really come along since 2006. DZ solos are so smooth and fluent that it's just plain sick I tell ya. You can tell the band has been doing there homework. You could see a younger crowd really getting into the show, so great job DZ for "hooking" the younger generation. Ray is fricking awesome and Sheila has really matured as a performer. Love Pete on Bass and Joe's drums sounded sweet. Billy, Jamie and Aaron complete this killer jaw dropping ensemble.

City of Tiny Lights
Cheepins
Flakes (Great job Sheila doing Cartman)
Broken Hearts are for Assholes
Bamboozled by Love
King Kong (Intense jam)
Joe's Garage
Fembot in a Wet T-shirt
On the Bus
Outside Now
He used to cut the Grass (DZ Killer solo, one of my favs)
Packard Goose
Willie the Pimp
Cosmik Debris
Muffin Man (encore)

Overall, another impressive show. Please come back to any part of Michigan next year.

Rob

We traveled from Columbus, as it appeared Lansing was going to be the closest this year's tour would come to us.

It was a GREAT show! We also saw them last year in Columbus, and I believe I detected more "Dweezil" in Dweezil's performance this year! (A GOOD thing!)

Dweezil definitely had some improvisation of his own in some of his guitar solos, and he IMPROVED on Frank's music, instead of merely trying to parrot it.

Also loved when Scheila did the Cartman voice for Flakes. The whole band rocked, and I believe Frank would be very pleased with all of them!

Firstly, the side bands were great entertainment for what was about to happen.

Wow! Even the "Off beat(s)" was/were right on!!! Congratulations, "Zappa Plays Zappa" PLEASE keep coming back.

Thanks for "never taking the smile off your faces", you obviously enjoy playing the best music written. It shows, ALL are great MUSICIANS. I'm still smiling...Heah, you had the best teacher of them all, and He taught you WELL, Dweezil, man you can sure play WOW!!!!

Thanks Mr. Zappa for coming out and being so personal, signing hats, and everything else..and talking to us was sooo cool. How about the rest of the band next year?

Mr. White, THANK YOU!!!

See you next year or sooner
PW

You forgot the opening song!
They played Treacherous Cretins which was amazing. I was not expecting it, sounded great too.
