Did you attend this ZPZ show at Villa Arconati?

Dweezil and the band love reading your reviews.

Please do not post in this thread if you did not attend the show.

When I checked out the ZPZ 2008 tour dates a few months ago, I was dismayed by noticing that Chicago, where I currently live, was not in the list. That was a bad blow. I immediately started planning a trip to the closest US city when I saw a moment later that my hometown Milano was in. YEAH!! I had plans to be in Italy in July, and the lucky coincidence nearly struck me a second time within a few seconds.
So I saw a Zappa Plays Zappa concert for the third time since 2006. Every time it's been an incredible performance, and yesterday was no exception. Everybody has agreed that this band is outstanding, and I can only confirm that.
The crowd went crazy. About thirty minutes into the show (and with 2 more hours to go) hundreds of people left their seats and rushed to the area in front of the stage, dancing and cheering (and some also smoking, which was officially forbidden but the idiots didn't give a fuck).
Anyway, it was great to see so many different people, from teenagers to grandma/grandpa couples.
I think Dweezil was particularly surprised and amused by the fact that many of us sang along Peaches and regalia, which he eventually said had not happened before. Not such an easy-going tune to sing, but I think we did well, right Dweez?
The climax was reached during Willie the Pimp, when I nearly freaked out. But the whole show was a climax.
Thank you for playing Frank Zappa's music so greatly. It was a great night with a fabulous band giving us great fun.

What an amazing show!!!! This was my fourth ZPZ show and I finally managed to drag four friends along to their first Zappa experience. We got to the venue(a 16th century villa in the northern Italian country side) and caught part of the sound-check from outside. After a long hike around the town of Bollate we found some pizza and beer and had a very kind welcoming by the locals.

The show was absolutely mindblowing!!! It took a song or two for the soundguy to sort out the mix in the massive plastic tent(we just had more rain around here in the last week than I have ever seen) I think the highlight of the show for me was "Packard Goose" probably one of my all time favorite guitar solos ever!!

so, four shows, two continents and three countries later, I'm still ready for more! Hope to see you guys in Bern!

THANKS!!!!!!

ps: where does one find booking info for ZPZ? it doesn't seem to be on the website.

/didn't see any swedes....

Concerto fantastico
Tutti i musicisti di altissimo livello con atteggiamento sobrio ma coinvolgente. Repertorio vario ed azzeccato. Più di due ore ininterrotte di splendida musica.
Sto già aspettando il tour invernale.
Grazie. A presto.

the venue could not have been more dramatic and more beautiful! An old Italian crumbling villa, amazing. This was my second time at a ZPZ concert and I enjoyed it just as much as the first. It really seemed that Dweezil and the band were enjoying themselves just as much as the audience. I noticed Dweezel remained to sign autographs, he must have been signing for half an hour when I left and he was still at it. I swear he must've signed every single autograph request he got that night. A great artist who appreciates his fans 8)
