Did you attend this ZPZ show at Calvin Theatre in Northhampton, MA?

Dweezil and the band love reading your reviews.

Please do not post in this thread if you did not attend the show.

Dweezil, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You for another phenomenal show.....
I have to say the venue sucked a bit, as the Calvin Theatre Nazi's insited I stand at the back in order to move my feet....I ended up dancing next to the lighting -board all night because some crybaby whined that I was blocking his view....he had functional legs as well, & I couldn't understand how he was sitting there not using them....
I didn't see anything on my ticket-stub that said dancing wasn't allowed.....although Northampton seemed like a progressive town (Doug & Abby, nice to meet ya'), I don't think I'll go back to the Calvin theatre until I'm ready for the needle in my arm.....
Thanks for the Muffin Man....That was a tasty little tidbit....
SEE YOU IN PEEKSKILL!!!!

Hi back at you to the fellow Doug & I met last night -- and I know the Calvin does some stupid shit as far as "you can't dance" but that's the way of it there... the acoustics were great and Noho was honoured to have ZPZ here.
As far as the show went: THRILLED was I!!! Smiling all the way home and singing still since last night (much to the chagrine of my housemates).
I grew up on Frank in my house, but very sadly never saw him play live. Last night was phenominal and I want to thank Dweezil and the band for coming. PLEASE COME BACK FOR HALLOWE'EN.
I know we ain't Boston, but we love you just the same.

Hoped for: "Call any Vegetable" and "Cosmic Debris" -- maybe next time???

Cosmic Debris was on the set list for the last encore...but the crowd opt'd for Muffin Man instead.

since it must be request time....:)...I'd love to hear Deathless Horsie, or Watermelon In Easter Hay.

Re: "We aint Boston..."
The Calvin show blew last years Boston show away....feel privledged

Okay dokay - I am feeling the love.
Thanks for saying that about Boston. I didn't know.

I will STILL hope for a return at Hallowe'en. I know I'm being cheeky, as I just saw them last night, but still........... <sigh>

(BTW: has ANYONE seen Barking Pumpkin shirts in anything larger than the teeny size selling on the site? ya, I live in hope. I miss my old one terribly.)

! Almost forgot...!
I found this pretty funny myself; and Dweezil, if in fact you do read this forum, mind you this is 'tongue in cheek' response, here goes...

During the Democratic process of which encores to do..."Carolina" or "Muffin Man"..."I Am the Slime"...or Illinois"...Well everybody wanted Illinois...'cause of Ray....and Carolina didn't get much resonse, all though I would have liked to hear another 3 more hours...It was a toss between "Slime, and Muffin"...end result ...Muffin....
Kind of like Franks' ycdtosa2 ...Montana...Whipping Post....Montana... Whipping Post...
Anyway Joe counts off...to me , tell me if I'm wrong...to "Slime"...you stop it, chuckle, and blame it on Jamie....I know it was Slime...;) But Joe's the Vaultmaster....right?
Anyway , it's the meaningless little !@$! like that , that makes the shows so memorable...

That was the most amazing concert I've ever been to. Dweezil, thank you so much for keeping Frank's music alive, and being so dedicated to the performance!

I loved Flakes!

G-Spot Tornado was absolutely amazing, any chance you'll take up my friend's request and work on Beltway Bandits?

Once again, thank you so much! Hopefully I'll be able to make it to the show in October!

All I can say is WOW!!!!! I never thought I would ever get to experience this music live again. The band was unbelievably tight and Dweezil represented ol' Dad rightiously.Once again "WOW"

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome! Thank you Dweezil and players for a wonderful show.. Your faith to Frank's art form is without parallel. I brought along my 21-year old son who is an appreciator of all things 70's and he was blown away. We will return as audience at another venue.. fer sure.

Oh.. I think a must encore should be Inca Roads. Are you all up to the challenge?

Best wishes and thank you to all.

ps. One critical comment.. Of course its a live venue we (the audience) experience, with its associated lack of controls, but I can't understand why the sound people (or person) doesn't drop the sound level a couple of dBs when you all play at once. The shape of the hall perhaps along with the high volume level simply washes away the intricacies of sound your trying to send out. For instance the saxaphone, a formidable instrument to say the least, of Scheila Gonzalez cannot be heard within the cacaphony of everyone playing at the same time. A shame I think. Lowering the sound level just a -wee bit- during those moments would probably bring out more of the instrumentals that are there. Does anyone else agree with this or are my ears just too old now?

re: sax...

yeah i was sitting just right of center, looking at the stage....and the sax was less audible than the rest...but heard her flute very well....the band must have given her some room with that instrument.

Cool...just did a little research

Closing the late show 12/11/1980 at the Civic Auditorium in Santa Monica Ca. Frank played "The Illinois Enema Bandit" for his Last song of the night.

During this show Frank also vamps Soup 'N Old Clothes,as did Dweezil last night

Cool...very cool

I was sitting up in the balcony and noticed the sound as well. On some songs it was tough to hear Ray White's singing along with the whole band. Honestly, I contribute it partially to the venue more than the tech.
