Did you attend the ZPZ show at the Michigan Theatre in Ann Arbor?

Dweezil and the band love reading your reviews.

Please do not post in this thread if you did not attend the show.

The band was tired after the last 3 nights, but still put on a great show, playing 3 hours! Billy the Mountain was excellent, as was everything else they played. The solos all rocked, and we can't wait to see them all again.

Dweezil handled the crowd with skill and grace, keeping the band to the planned setlist, but still working to play some of the requests that were shouted. He was always smiling, and really seemed to be having fun.

We were the 2 guys with the tie dyes in the 2nd row on stage right. Our seats were great and the show was excellent! This was our second show this summer, and we can't wait for the next time!

This was my first ZPZ show. Like the tie-dye guys, we were in the 2nd row (thanks Ticketmaster)! Unbelievalbe musicianship on the part of the band - you can really tell that they aren't just "playing their parts", they are really listening to each other and responding musically to each other.

Though I didn't write down the set list (someone please post), some of the highlights for me were Billy the Mountain, Andy, Fembot (incredible DZ solo), Cosmik Debris, and the closer - I'm the Slime. Dweezil gave a good intro. to BTM - he said that it is like a really weird high school musical. My wife and I were cracking up listening to it.

All in all it was a memorable show - and the Michigan Theater was a great place to see it! The band was very gracious with their time after a long show of nearly 3 hours, staying to sign autographs and shake hands. Very cool!

After the previous three nights at The Morse in Chicago, this venue seemed huge (and not nearly sold-out, what's up Ann Arbor?). Glyn commented to me before the show that the band/crew were running on about three hours sleep and that this might possibly get crazy. Once again, Mr. Wood was a prophet. While Chicago was tight, Ann Arbor was loose, goofy and long. About twenty minutes longer than the longest at the Morse. It seemed that everyone really enjoyed having space and maybe even enjoyed playing to a lager crowd again.

Setlist courtesy of FOH master Glyn Wood:
Andy
Dog Breath
Tell Me You Love Me
# For A Brown (non band solo version)
Cosmic Debris w/ Rays first guitar solo of the tour. Something we all missed in Chicago.
Billy The Mountain sans flexi-bracelet and ring light, Sheila, I noticed
Dirty Love
Bamboozled By Love
King Kong w/ band solos, ZPZ's first dance contest and Ray White using the phrases "I was there, where were you", "Is that your box of dildoes", & "Ummmm...roadkill" in a spontaneous song!
Pygmy Twylyte Roxy Version
Idiot Bastard Son
Cheepnis
Gas Station
San Berdino
Joe's Garage
Fembot In A Wet T-Shirt
Torture Never Stops
ENCORE
Camarillo Brillo
Muffin Man
Slime

Despite Dweezil's stage banter, Slime was indeed scheduled to be included. All in all, four songs we didn't hear in Chicago! and a strong mix of the rest. Good luck on the rest of this tour. Montreal to VA should be fun in the vans. No busses or beds this tour! Toronto, you are in for a treat.
To the band and crew: Thank you again for providing me with a reason to take four days off work and drive one thousand miles. I can't wait to do it again next year. Fifteen down, infinity to go! Be safe out there and take care of each other.

6th time taking in the wonder of Zappa Plays Zappa. My 10 year old accompanied me for his 3rd ZPZ show. This time we brought along a couple of 1st timers in my brother and his 11 year old. At the end of Andy my nephew looked at me and said," That was awesome. Is the whole show going to be like that?". The Dweez signed his shirt after the show and I believe we have a new fan!!! Thanks again for doing this. See you next time.
