Did you attend the second ZPZ show at the Le Gesu in Montreal?

Dweezil and the band love reading your reviews.

Please do not post in this thread if you did not attend the show.

What an amazing 2 nights shows in Montréal. 2 shows entirely different, except the very funny Billy the Mountain (the special title of this Tour), Peaches and Inca Roads (probably choosen by audience on special requests). The sound quality was really better on the second show.

The short lyric impro of Ray " I dont speak french, I speak language of Love" were very funny.

Special requests (unofficial): Montana, Inca Roads, Dirty Love, Torture and (peaches ...???).

Long life to the ZPZ Band. Please Dweezil don't forget to schedule Montreal again on your next Tour.

What a great evening!!!

I'm so happy that I have seen both shows in Montreal. Two realy diferents shows. The mood was not the same but boths were fantastics. It was only the second time I heard Billy the Mountain (fist time was the day before) and this 30 minutes songs made me laugh even if I don't understand half of the story...

This was follow by Flithy Habits with impro from all members of the band. In there you can also find a special attention to canadians and quebequers fans. Allusion to Rush, with the help of Ray White as a kind of Geedy Lee voice and also when Jamie finish his solo with a touch of Frank Marino. WOW.

I did jump off my chair when they start playing one of my favorite song, Gas Station, and at the same time I conect eye to eye with Dweezil. My friend thanks a lot for playing that one and also Dirty Love.

Hope that someone gonna post the setlist 'cause it was the best, in my humble point of view, I heard from all four shows in Montreal and also Ottawa.

Please come back next year. I WILL SAVE MY MONEY AND I WILL GO TO THE SHOW!

Truly yours,

Charles the Frank-O-Phone

The first show was so (hellhole, ya that was me) good that I had to go back for seconds. I was treated to another evening of great music, with enough variations from the night before to make it worth the drive from Ottawa again. The only other thing I can add to what has already been said is: if they come to your city, go see them, if they don't come to your city, drive to one where there are playing and go see them!!!

Hi-yo Silver, away....

Dave

I saw the outdoor show in Quebec City this summer with my bother and his kids.
It was great, but W's young lad had to p!ss before it was over so we listened to the rest outside the venue.

This show was fantastic. Being at eye level with the band members is an incredible treat.
The sound was a little loud where I sat (10' from speakers), but witnessing the performance while almost standing on stage is incredible.

Billy The Mountain

Fu#@#&@&#king fantastic performance. Never seen anything like it.

Dweezil has taken his inheritance, assembled an amazing band with which he highlights his outstanding guitar and musical chops.

Bravo!

I've never been in that particular hall before and I've worked in the area for almost twenty years. Nice room, and a stage big enough for the whole band, as opposed to the Mod Club where all we saw of the guys in back was their hats.

It seemed to me that the place was packed. I didn't see an empty seat. My humble opinion is that if you have the choice of three shows in Toronto or three shows in Montreal, Dweezil that you might consider that we Montrealers will rise to the occaision.

It might be my inmagination but I have this suspicion that the Quebec audience has a finer ear for the music of the modern day composer. Maybe it's my loyalty to my home, I dunno.

Highlights:

- Watermelon in Easter Hay - tremendous. It was great to hear such a spot on version live.

- Montana, just for old time's sake.

- Something about a Crystal Snapper? Wouldn't that be a ball....

I'm looking forward to next year. Have a great tour guys!

Good night, boys and girls.

When the fall tour was first announced, there were no shows scheduled for the west coast of Canada, (I live in Vancouver), so I decided to travel to Montreal to take in the event. I have seen ZPZ twice in Vancouver and once in Calgary and was not about to miss the opportunity this year. When the second Montreal show was announced I quickly scooped up tickets, setting up a cool weekend in a faraway land complete with two nights of what I knew would be unforgetable entertainment.

I brought my oldest son, who's 17th birthday happened to be the same day as the second show. This was his first ZPZ experience and he must of thanked me a dozen times for bringing him along. At one point during the second show, he asked me if Frank played the guitar as "awsome" as Dweezil. When we got home I gave him my "Shut Up And Play Yer Guitar" CD to listen to - We'll let him try to figure it out.

Both shows were amazing, (exceptional venue), and Dweezil and the band were most generous. Sheila gave me her set list and signed it - Happy B-Day to my son, as did Dweezil and others. Cool birthday card! THANX Mr. Zappa.

The Montreal crowd was very enthusiastic and grateful, with standing ovation after standing ovation.

My only dissapointment was that the second show was not sold out. It's such a shame that Frank Zappa's music was not allways top of the charts and that ZPZ depictions of his creations are not allways attended by "standing room only" crowds.

A Vancouver show has since been announced (we have our tickets) and we look forward to more of this "one of a kind" entertainment.

Thanx again to Mr. Zappa and your crew for all you do. Please keep it coming!

Whoo! I had a great time at the show, and found the soundcheck really cool. It was fantastic to have that interactive experience with the band. It was really nice of Dweezil to inquire if the if we had been able to use the extra ticket we had in the second row. (we did) and, like the guy in front of me, I also had trouble hearing Ray's vocals during the soundcheck . I was greatly distressed that dinner took too long and we missed the beginning of the show. I did not receive my nifty laminated card with the download code for the concert. I'm hoping some kind soul from the ZPZ crew could email me with a code for the Oct 25 Montreal concert.

This was the fourth time I've been able to see ZPZ. Any time you pass through Ottawa or Montreal I will be there! I hope the band still loves to tour because I love to see/hear you play!

Thank you and keep on having fun

MUSIC IS THE BEST
