Did you attend this ZPZ show at the Whitaker Center in Harrisburg PA?

Dweezil and the band love reading your reviews.

Please do not post in this thread if you did not attend the show.

Tonight was truly unforgettable. Set list was phenomenal, and many were signed and handed out, so I suspect someone will be typing it up shortly...

I surprised my uncle with tickets to this concert, and he was completely blown away, stating that he had "never been skull-fucked" prior to this experience, and he personally thanked Ray for that effect-- Ray thought that was great.

2 hr 30 mins, approximately. I was able to meet Scheila, Dweezil, and Ray afterwards. They're all so approachable and full of life.

"Billy the Mountain" was a massive surprise and personally I can't see how they could have performed it any more flawlessly than they did. So wonderful.

I kept reading that the band is improving by leaps each year... and having seen them Nov '07 and now... I believe it. One of the best nights of my life.

Cannot wait for Bridgeport on Saturday!

Great show everybody! It was a lot of fun making this a family affair and having Dweezil and the other band members make the kids feel at home.
This was the 4th show I've seen, and they keep getting better. The set list was incredible. I got Aaron's and Jamie's --which I'll post later. Thanks guys!

From running into Jamie and Joe before the show and talking to everyone afterwards, it was incredible. I could have sat for another 2 hours. This show seemed a bit shorter than the others--or it may have been because I was sitting and not standing.

Again, thanks to everyone--the 3 hour drive was well worth it. Hope to see you soon!

Kathy and family

First time ZPZ show for me. I did see Frank at the Palladium in the 70's and on his last tour in Hartford CT.

Last night completely blew me away! Wow!

It seemed like Dweezil was able to tease a freakin tornado out of his guitar. Every time you think it might go astray he'd bring it back in. Every so often an incredible climax would materialize before he'd bring it back into the center of the funnel. He looked like a kid having fun with his new Nintendo seeing how far he could take it. His smile beaming all night long. Rock on!

That climax during the Torture Never Stops was one of the most intense concert moments I've ever had! I looked over at my friend and all I could do was smile and say what the fuck just happened here?

Ray's singing was absolutely superb, the whole band was amazing.

Can't wait for the next one. Thanks for coming to Harrisburg! I haven't begun to search but I sure hope they are selling sbds, I want one!

7th time seeing ZPZ and this one was special. I drove 513 miles to get to Harrisburg knowing befoe I departed that the show was sold out. I checked into the Hilton which was attaced to the venue and started searching for a ticket. A fellow named Lanny was outside having a smoke and happened to have an extra ticket!! About 10 rows back center stage. It was another great show and it felt like the band was gearing up for the New York shows. You folks in New York are in for a great time!!!

Sorry it took so long to post. It was a great show...I just wished I hadn't had so much to drink because my memory is a bit fuzzy. We were in 3rd row and the sound was great. Not too loud, not distorted, just right.

My youngest son (6 yrs. old) keeps talking about "Billy the Mountain" and how it was his favorite song.

Thanks to everyone for your time and hard work. I hope to see you soon.

Kathy

Did that really happen? If it wasn't the best show ever, I don't know what was? Standing ovations for almost every song, and smiles from beginning to end. Thanks to all!

:D Did anyone walk away from this show without a smile on their face? The fun that the musicians were having onstage was contagious and infected the crowd quickly.

What a truly amazing and talented group of musicians. I was fortunate to see FZ in the early 80's in Philadelphia; Dweezil and ZPZ, thank you for keeping the Zappa flame burning.

Also, thanks for being so approachable and gracious, as to stay and sign autographs and pose for photos w/fans. ZPZ is an amazing experience. Mad love!

Are they selling the soundboards for this tour? If yes please point me to the site, I would love a board of this show.

So I go to see this show in Harrisburg. It starts off well enough -- "Louie, Louie", a classic song. Then they went into some kind of weird, voodoo music, possibly the ugliest music on the planet. The band had some talent, I just wonder why they don't learn better songs?
Ha, ha, kidding, of course. Possibly the best band in the world playing the best music in the world... how can you beat that? Oh maybe by meeting Joe Travers in a bar called The Gingerbread Man (almost The Muffin Man!) or by finally getting to tell Scheila that I love her or by kidding Aaron about "Louie, Louie" or by getting a great Barking Pumpkin/Zappaween/Torture Never Stops T-shirt autographed by Scheila and the man himself, Dweezil.
In my opinion, it would be an insult to say that ZPZ rocked Harrisburg or any other city. When they step on stage, they rock the world, maybe even the known universe! It's an honor and a privilege to get to see such talented musicians and nice people perform.
Happy Zappaween!

Absolutely incredible. The band is excellent and the music fabulous. Pinch yerself—less than 10,000 people are going to see these small venue shows. I was at the Birchmere and then in Harrisburg and can’t wait to see ZPZ again. I saw them in ’06 in DC and Frank a few times in the late 70’s and early 80’s. Phenomenal stuff and I think it’s wonderful to be able to hear Zappa tunes live again and to see so many younger fans turn onto it. Thank you Dweezil!

Excellent set lists by the way.

Excellent, thanks a bunch. I asked to look at someone's set list, and I thought I recalled seeing 20 songs, not 18... I couldn't even chronicle the songs, because I'm still in disbelief by how amazing this concert was.

okay i have been a fan of frank zappa for many many years. i'm 21 years old, i've lived on tour, i have seen over 120 bands live. but honestly nothing has even come close to comparing to the night of music the people at the whitaker center got to see. my buddy and i went with out tickets and it wasn't hard to find two seats, they were on the balcony level in the front row dead center, not liek there is even a bad seat in the house there..it was like watching a movie. once they started it was over...hands down the best night of music i have ever seen, so tight, so technical, every change was on point...the only thing i could say and this is so minor that it was only a thought in my head for about 2 seconds, was that sheila's voice cracked a couple times on a note...ray's voice is fucking awesome...how about the "eating dogfood chained up to a van" improv shit?! hilarious...billy the mountain was enough to make me jump off the balcony in it's insanity...the jams in zombie woof, and the torture never stops...i looked over at my friend and put my finger in my mouth like i was puking it was so sick ;] and the solos in chungas revenge were out of this world. this band knows what they are doing, and covering franks music, they should...but it never once seemed like any of the members were trying to show off, they all were showing off as one crazy mass of musical insanity. ahh i'm just so glad i got to go to this because now i have a new favorite concert to go see. yesss, loveeed the setlist too!

DZ...what an incredible way to honor your father. you are too fucking righteous.
