Fantastic show, A real treat seeing Dweezil and Ray White,

Being a long time fan of Frank, I always wanted to see a show such as this, and now I can saw I did.
Ray put the icing on the cake with his classic vocals. While the band was phenomenal Ray added to the Zappa experience like no other vocalist can. Dweezil’s blistering riffs were next to none. Bravo….To all of the ZPZ band,
The improvised lyrics and jams were a Zappa classic in the making. All in the spirit of frank….
I hope the ZPZ band continues to tour, so one day I can bring my kids to a show…..
Thanks for the good time, See you at the next show in the New England area…

PS, If there is ever a bootleg, or pay download of this show or others around the time frame... PLEASE let me know, I am dying to re live the music already...

Fourth ZPZ show...saw Frank ten (regular customer). The Klein is a nice old theater. I saw Frank a few times at The Palace in Waterbury (small old theater /once with Mahavishnu Orch). I really dug Billy the Mountain. The booze concession really added to the show. Drunk people do what us sober people want to do (but are smart enough not to in case of errant phone/photos being taken). Really enjoyed Joe Travers. That librarian gig for the ZFT must have been very cool. Hope Napolean Murphy Brock or Ike Willis go on the road one year.
More twelve tone stuff and less Joe's Garage.
The present day composer...you know the rest

This was my second show for ZPZ. The theater was much better than the Calvin in NoHo, though I honestly didn't like the area in general.
What happened to the PA? Right after it cut out it got REAL loud. I think that the show was a little loud for that theater. Other than that... PERFECT!
Highlights for me was the material from Zoot. I loved Black Napkins and Torture. I really like Purple Lagoon to open the show. Ray was just awesome. Unreal! He really belts out the vocals in a way that no one else does. Sheila is magical on that stage. She really gets it. Dweezil is Dweezil: incredible. Joe is the same for me as Sheila. He is awesome and he understands the nuances of Frank's music. Billy doing Billy the Mountain was huge. I brought a friend that is not very familiar as I am with his music and he was blown away.

Thanks for coming back to New England!

This is my 3rd trip to a ZPZ show and many others 30 years ago. Took 3 buddies who are vintage Zappa concert goers and they were all blown away by the festivities. The new dance rendition of San Bernadino was a sight to behold, to think that most of them were over 40. Billy the mountain was nothing short of perfect. BLACK NAPKINS, AWESOME. I was taken back to the past with Muffin man closing out the show, reminders of the Palladium. Ray was at his best tonite and Sheila nothing short of great. Dweezil just keeps getting better with age. You would make Frank proud, and yes DZ, them dreams do come true!!!!!
Thanks for rekindling the memories of things past, keep it up and we'll see u next year.
DZ , I am still waiting for the picture of the studio wall with the license plates.
Wanna see where the FZ is hung.

This was my sixth ZPZ show. I thought the musicianship and performances were solid but I was let down by the song selections. "Billy The Mountain" aside, the show mimicked their set from The Gathering of the Vibes. Maybe 2-months in between ZPZ shows isn't enough? I wish someone in the band had took the time to research their prior setlists in the area and composed something fresh. And, what's up with R. Kelly? Is he even still topical? That joke was beaten into the ground last night. :) Nice to see Dweezil bring the kids on stage. That was fun to see and I'm sure it was a thrill for them. We met Aaron Artnz and Ray White after the show. Super cool/nice cats. It was a fun night. Can't wait to see them again... Next year.

A great night, thanks Dweezil and band! Please get back to CT sooner rather than later. I think I'm a song or 2 short on the set but that's the lions share of it. It was about 2:45 audience participation, folks dancing on stage, blistering guitar work awesome ensemble playing.
The whole night was full of high lights, but I have to say Billy the Mountain exceeded my expectations. I went to the shw skeptical thinking for 30 to 40 minutes I could hear 3 or 4 other songes instead of Billy etc.
But after seeing the work te band put into it, the fun and the true entertaining nature of it, I owuld not have traded it for a second.
So folks on west coast enjoy the shw and hope for some Billy.
Joe Travers had a great night as did Ms. Gonzalez.
Peace.

Wonderful Show! My 4th ZPZ (I am a veteran of 5 original FZ shows). My fav'e were City of Tiny Lights, San Berdino' . Flakes and Black Napkins. I agree w/ the other post on how cool it was to bring the dancers on stage for another out-tro on San Ber!
This band just gets better each time I see them. This is not puffery: these shows are every bit as musical, energetic, and most of all, FUN as the old Frank shows. Being an amateur bass player (as are my 2 sons who I brought to the show) Pete G. really shines and grooves in wonderfully w/ Joe T. to create a powerhouse rhythm section. But hell, ALL of the band members are exceptional.

Dwezil's soloing is more expansive, daring and confident than I remember. As GOOD as Frank but different. I will go see every show I can next year.

I HAVE ONE GRIPE WHICH HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE BAND AT ALL: CAN THE GROWN UPS WHO DECIDE TO DRINK STOP GETTING PISS DRUNK? THE GUY AHEAD OF ME (AND HIS FEMALE) MUST HAVE DOWNED 5 RUM AND COKES EACH AND GOT RIDICULOUS. MY 15 AND 18 YEAR OLD KIDS WERE LAUGHING AT THEM. THE DUDE STANDS UP ALL THE TIME...WEAVING AND LAMELY ATTEMPTING TO KEEP HIS BALANCE, SHOUTING FOR "BLACK NAPKINS" AFTER EACH SONG AND YES, AFTER DWEEZIL PLAYED BLACK NAPKINS GUESS WHAT, HE KEPT YELLING FOR THE BAND TO PLAY "BLACK NAPKINS". HE HAD NO BALANCE, SPILLED HIS DRINKS AND STEPPED ON ME CONSTANTLY. AND YES, HE DROVE HOME. HE WAS EASILY MY AGE (LATE 40'S EARLY 50'S). He wasn't the only one by a long shot.
I like a mild wine buzz too but sheesh.

Anyway, back to the band: three hours of solid musicianship, humor [I liked the R kelly stuff....[hi ho Silver!!!] and enjoyment. I would see them again in a heartbeat. Buy the DVD

WOW! Was that not the best ZPZ show yet? I was one of the crazy people on stage...if anyone has pics or video, please pm me and let me see them!

What I loved most about this show was the audience participation. I sat through the Harrisburg show, and although I liked that set list better than last night's, I liked this show much better. The energy was CRAZY! I was finally able to let loose and dance, which I never do---ever. I was in heaven. Pete and Aaron rocked their solos during King Kong!

I've said it a million times, and I'll say it again, THANK YOU to everyone for your hard work--musicians, crew, everyone. It means the world to so many of us. --I'd drive 7 hours again next weekend if I could!

(The set list I have (thanks, Billy) has King Kong before Gas Station)

What an awesome group of people you are! You know who you is.

Until next time,

Kathy (Suzy Creamcheese)

When I got home tonight, Javi's first words were "What did they play?" When I got to Broken Hearts, he cried for about 10 minutes. HIS heart was broken! I promised never to leave him home again!

Thanks gang for a great show last night. My first ZPZ experience, but I've been a fan of Franks over 30 years now and had the pleasure of seeing and corresponding with Frank and the mothers on several occasions. Muffin Man as finale slayed me ..and Dweezil,Joe,Jaime,Scheila,Billy,Pete, and Aaron..you nailed it (that and all the rest of the sets!!!) How about RAY WHITE!!! Holy camoley thats worth the price of admission right there. Audience participation was as it should be at a Zappa show! Thrilled with Billy The Mountain!! Actually that was one of two songs my son and I thought we had no chance of hearing in concert,as we had discussed the trip down to Bridgeport (the other-Greggory Peccary) We will surely see you again if you tour anywhere in New England again. Dweezil, nuff said about the guitar playing (you are great) you are as nice a guy as your dad was. Thats saying a lot.
