Did you attend the FIRST ZPZ show at the Roxy in West Hollywood, CA?

Dweezil and the band love reading your reviews.

Please do not post in this thread if you did not attend the show.

Fantastic show last night, the band was incredible! I only got tickets to the one show, but now plan on seeing his shows early next year also.
Ray White was great. Scheila was beautiful and just amazing. Dweezil, Aaron, Pete, Billy, Jamie and Joe all played fantastic. Dweezil did a amazing job of conducting, and the band stayed right with him ("foil" in "Billy The Mountain" was great). What a sensory overload, still processing what I saw.
I think Red won the guitar and looked like a natural. Guitar lessons from Dweezil Zappa at the Roxy, how cool.
I have seen Frank many times over the years, this show was as great as any, maybe better.
ZPZ - go see it!
Bruce

Dweezil and gang were once again incredible, and what can be said about Ray White. 2 1/2 hours of non-stop fun. Billy the Mountain was righteous. The rest of the setlist was excellent as well.

A guy next to us yelled out that the band brings a tear to his eye. I know that is exactly how I felt each time I have seen the band. I saw FZ in the early eighties many times in NYC at the Palladium. You can close your eyes, and relive whatever FZ moment you may have had. Absolutely Awesome!

While I wish I had tickets for all of the shows (they were kind of expensive), I do have tickets to the last show as well.

I looked at my wife during Billy the Mountain and she was so into it it cracked me up. Seeing it live was amazing. That truly was a great song.
I enjoyed them all, as did my wife, but Billy (doing Billy the Mountain) was great!

What a great set. Great arrangements and improvisations added to the familiar.
To hear of Billy being done live is one thing but witnessing it was thoroughleeeee enjoyable. Mikey was the perfect narrator.

Thanks for the show.

Great set! I'm unable to attend the rest of the shows and am extremely bummed to miss out on the fun. I had the same experience as b_pappy... the wife was heavily engaged with "Billy". For me, "Pound for a Brown" with all of the solo hijinks was transcending and brought tears of joy.

Looking forward to NYE.

This is the coolest thing that the dweez could have ever done.
What a show !!! What a band, not just another band from LA, but the
best band I've ever heard in my life. We were sitting with jim from redding, and we were all really enjoying the show in the intimate venue.
Dweezle's guitar work was great. I have a new favorite drummer, his name is Joe Travers, wow he was on fire. Shiela,Shiela,Shiela.....Wowie Zowie baby you're so neat,"I don't even care if your dads the heat" !!!
Ray White is truly one of the greatest singers of all time. 100% on.
I saw Ray with Frank 3 times. He was always a favorite vocal treat,as well as a soulful guitar player. I would have liked to have heard more guitar from him as well as his vocal on Outside Now. "These executives have plooked the fuck out of me". Dweezle I hope you get the Grammy you deserve it. Thanks for the great show and I look forward to seeing yall in san diego in march. BTW kudos to the Roxy staff. Unlike humorless security nazis at some venues (cough *warfield* cough) the crew at the Roxy are great!

the staff at the roxy was fantastic...i go to a lot of little clubs and useally they are all up in your face at the wrong times... like when your steping back to over look the whole venue and check the crowd out as a whole experiance and they jump out of somewhere giving you the third degree... SHOUT OUT TO THE ROXY STAFF AND THE 7 DOLLAR PARKING, THATS JUST ACROSS THE STREET... what a great little club... like i said earlier ..i hope to see the ROXY as a Annual thing.... look forward to going next year.... arf
