Did you attend this ZPZ show at the Civic Opera House?

Dweezil and the band would love to read your reviews!

Dirty Love! I don't think that was mentioned in the set list posted. Highights for me were Brown Shoes (!), Uncle Remus, Joe's Garage, and well, everything else! Ray sounds GREAT! Now, I await the '06 DVD!

The band took the stage at 7.30 pm sharp, and ended at 10.28pm. What can you say, but the band is well rehearsed and quite tight. The band's (and audiences') energy picked up after Ray came on stage.

During Dupree's Paradise Scheila wailed on the SAX and even played two Saxophones at once. She is awesome! There was a "Sex in the City" jam in there too. Great show.

How are they playing What's New in Baltimore? Classic instrumental style with beautiful solo? or with lyrics?

Thanks so much for such a kick ass show!
Frank would have been so proud that you are spreading his music.
I love the videos...PLEASE KEEP COMING BACK TO CHICAGO (we would have gotten crazier but didn't want to get thrown out)...Brought tears to my eyes....in a good way!

Yeah, you really don't wanna get tossed from an Opera House! Nice venue, first time there...

Fantastic venue, accoustics were superior. In many ways better that last year. While it was great last year with Brock, Bozzio and Vai, this year the music was far more diverse, giving a much wider overview of FZ's work.

Scheila did a funny routine during 'America Drinks'.

During 'Duprees' Scheila wailed on Tenor Sax, then Flute, Then Tenor & Baritone Sax. She quoted the theme song from Spiderman just as she began playing the two-sax.

'Enema Bandit' was introduced as "The song we've been waiting to play, in the state we've been waiting to play it in."

At one point Joe sent a cowbell to Scheila to play, it cracked her up for several minutes.

The band is tighter than ever and have clearly grown into their respective roles. Dweezil is a man of such generous spirit and lack of ego onstage. His grace and composure are simply a delight to experience.

Dweezil stayed onstage for at least 20 minutes(maybe more but that was when I left the room) after the show ended, signing autographs and shaking hands of the fans.

One minor hassle, no credit card/atm facilities within the Opera House, but the venue was allowing re-entry, so we were free to go nextdoor to visit the ATM.

The only thing that could have made this a better event would be a second and third night added to the run. It would be so nice to see this band over the course of multiple evenings and hear them stretch out into multi-day and multi-set visits.

Edit: 'Baltimore' was with full lyrics.

The show tonight was one of the greatest things I will ever experience in additon to the show last year. My mother and father did a wonderful job raising my sister and I on Frank's music and we made sure to tell this to Dweezil after the show.

Dweezil-(I hope you do read these things) I cannot thank you enough for carrying on your father's music. It inspires me every day and seeing it happen right in front of me in the exact way Frank would have wanted it is amazing. When you are a true Zappa fan (born and raised) there is this mentality that you learn by REALLY listening and knowing what he was all about. Tonight I really listened and heard and witnessed that mentality. Through the music tonight, my feelings and beliefs are reaffirmed. The feeling I got is indescribable but goosebumps, weak knees and teary eyes are all included. It was such a generous deed you did by staying out after the show and signing things and dealing with people like my hysterical, crying, screaming mother. You are such an amazing person and I thank you for it a million times over. Thank you for being such a positive and inspiring influence and for touching the lives of me and my family tonight.

As for the show, I am glad it was different from last year (last year was equally outstanding). There was awesome contrast in the selections as far as style and the time period. The band sounded SO GREAT and everything was SO TIGHT.
Schelia-you are my hero! Everything you did tonight was out of this world amazing. You go girl!
Aaron, you are truly are a musical mad scientist!
Pete, way to lay it down brother! and keep me movin' and groovin' throughout the entire show.
Billy, what would the music be without those signature Zappa percussive rollercoasters that you execute with great precision! Way to carry on the legacy of Ruth!
Jamie, you were on fire up there and putting out those ultra-tasty licks.
Joe, you are a machine!!! You were so powerful and just right on for the whole show and the vocals were EXCELLENT as well.
Ray, you send chills down my spine and just supply so much energy up there. You sound really, really great. It was as if you never stopped performing the material.
So once again, thank you to the enitre group. All of your talents combined have amounted to amazing music and an experience that will stay with me for the rest of my life. Come back to Chicago soon. You are loved here by many.
Music is the best!
-Angela O.

The band came onstage tonight and set the bar high with the first song. Then, when Black Napkins happened, with Dweezil perfectly executing Frank's solo in real time with the video, I realized the labor of love and commitment involved in this project and started to cry. I am humbled. Thank you Soooo much.
