Son of God Tour, Indeed.
Real Music played by Real Musicians. What an utter delight in every way.
So many on other pages of this forum have said what amounts to, “When Frank died, so should his music have died. It can never be as good as when Frank did it, so don’t do it at all. Don’t praise the current musicians playing his music because we should only remember those who played it in the past.”
Of course, we old fans will never forget the past or all the great musicians who played with Frank. No, it won’t be the same as when Frank was alive; but
this band represents the future for this music. ZPZ has breathed new life into something I believed was lost forever. This experience has been very emotional for me because I am reliving feelings long forgotten. I found myself as excited as when I went to see Frank for the first time.
I had the privilege of seeing Frank at Johnson Gym in Albuquerque in 1980 and 1981. Ray White was there both times, so now
all of my live Zappa experiences have included the Great Ray White.
I was finally able to share this with my wife, who never was really into Frank’s music, merely tolerant of my obsession. Afterwards I asked her what was her favorite part., and she said, “The whole thing.” While I can’t say that she will be a new Frank Zappa fan, she will be a ZPZ fan.
Can’t wait for the DVD of last year’s tour. How about a CD of this year’s tour?
After the show, when I went up to the stage to get Dweezil’s autograph, I wanted to say so much to him, but being the idiot that I am, all I could only manage to say over all of the other fast talkers trying to get his attention was “Thank you...”
Again I say to Dweezil and the ZPZ band:
Thank You Thank You Thank You.
All the best to you and your family.
Music is the best, and so are you.

Come back soon.
