Did you attend this show at the House of Blues in Las Vegas?

Dweezil and the band would love to read your reviews.

Please do not post in this thread if you did not attend the show.

I just got back from HOB to see ZPZ. Dweezil, you just keep getting better! The whole experience was great fun and amazingly esoteric in places. The act is really going deep into the tracks to find the gems. There is, for me many new pieces to my ears and many good old favorites. I think most of the crowd had a similar experience.

Couple of notes on the performances. OK. Excess is exceptional. Scheila played both damn saxophones at once - and really well. That was an amazing feat.

Ray White was wonderful. He worked the crowd brilliantly while singing with excellent pipes and he really seemed to be enjoying himself. I loved how when Frank was playing on the video, that Ray was right there watching the Master like the fans in the audience. You could feel the love.

Dweezil...damn...your guitar weeps and wails like...I don't know...it defies description. You had me in tears, dude.

Its so common for the performers to say "Thank You" to an appreciative crowd, but for Dweezil, really ... THANK YOU. For keeping the music alive, for bringing it to new fans and demonstrating such supreme grace and deep professionalism in your performances.

I'll be at HOB every time you play. Best wishes...

(Next time, how about some "Zombie Woof"?

BTW: Great rendition of Joe's Garage!

Saw the show in Las Vegas last night. Wow, were we ever blown away. What a fantastic alchemy of musicians! The caliber of musical language displayed for 3 hours is a testimony to all of your musical talents.

What a great tribute to FZ. It was moving to see how Dweezil turned to the video screen as if he were really playing with his Father. Dweezil's guitar playing was out of this world. Scheila was a true inspiration to all musicians. She was the master of at least 6 different instruments including vocals. Joe also rocked big time on drums. All the band members were really outstanding!

It was really great that Dweezil came out to meet the audience at the end of the show to sign autographs. We will definitely not forget this night and will be at the Las Vegas show again next year to see ZPZ. (It is a shame that only age 21 + could attend this show at HOB. Our musician kids would have really been inspired by this concert!) It has been 25+ years since seeing FZ live in Syracuse, NY and this concert recharged the batteries for sure!! Thanks Dweezil for keeping FZ's music alive and well. ROCK ON...pardon my French!

Whooooa

I think I left my jaw on the hob floor. I'm sure it must still be there or maybe it's just still hanging open in the stupified utter amazement that the show last night left me in.

I never ever thought it would be that freakin good.

Did anyone else at the show think at the end of any one of Dweezil's guitar breaks- "holy crap, I forgot it was him!!!!!!!!!!"

Hang on- G-SPOT TORNADO???!! Get outta here-who nails that-I read the Ensemble Moderne were even scared of that one.

Also- did anyone notice Dweezil copping the original solo from Yo Mama?
If I'm not mistaken, that solo never happened in real time-it was one of those that Frank Zappa dubbed in from some other song in another performance-different time sigs, everything else-HOW THE HECK DO YOU COPY THAT?

Thank you guys for a totally mind-blowing, inspiring performance. I was very impressed with every musician up there. Joe Travers was nailing the low vocal parts in the harmonies very well-thought I could hear FZ in there. Music really is best.

ps dweezil, i hate you- how'd you get so damn good like that.

Last year's show had more of my favorite songs, but the performances last night were so good that even songs I didn't know were accessible and engaging.

Ray White is beyond cool.

Dweezil's playing seems even more expressive than I remembered from last year.

I'd like to hear more of Aaron's playing. The arrangement of Uncle Remus wasn't as spare as the original; some of the piano lines were hidden.

G-Spot Tornado was the high point of the show for me--what a great piece.

Thanks so much to Dweezil and the band. Everyone's playing was great.

Made the trip from Oregon to see ZPZ.

Amazing Show.

I know that ANDY was also played, just not sure where it fits into the set list above.

What a wonderful concert. It was increadible how the energy of the show evolved. At first the audiance was, yes, appreciative, but a bit more reserved...however it seemed to me that, pardon my french, but after Dupree's Paradise the concert took on a whole new level. Everyone on the stage had a chance to show just how incredible they are and it blew the audiances minds. Great Job. After that it felt like an inferno coming off of the stage.

And yes, Dweezel, you are somehow getting better and better and you make it look so effortless, it is sickening! My favorite solo was the one sandwiched in Yo Mama. Damn, that was just intense. The playfulness and joy exhuded from the stage was infectous and is a rare thing to see, particularily when executing such difficult music. It was a pretty long trip and you all made it absolutely worth it.

Thanks for staying late and signing autograph's Dweez. That was really nice, I saw you in Anaheim and Portland last year and look forward to seeing you sweep through the Northwest (Pland, Seattle and Van BC) this late fall.

Pardon MY French but YOU ALL ROCK!!!

Flew out from Philly in the morning to see the show. This is my fourth ZPZ show and each time is better than the last. It was great to meet him after the show. He signed my wife's FREAK OUT shirt and my Sheik Yerbouti shirt. You do your father proud with every show. Thanks for keeping Frank's music alive. Iwill see you in Atlantic City in November and as many shows that I can get to next year and beyond.

What an incredible show this was. I came all the way from England just to see this show. Dweezil impressed me to no end, from his respectful demeanor while playing the music to sticking around afterwards to meet his fans. The rest of the band was top notch as well and you could sense that they too appreciated the music. Dweezil has really moved into his own and I hope that one day he too gets the respect he deserves. I will see this show every chance I get. Best show I have ever been to. I hope that while keeping Frank's legacy alive, Dweezil establishes his own. This music was meant to be heard live.
