Question:

Will there be a second volume of ‘the Lost Episodes’?
- Studebaker

Answer:

Yes, there will and there is.

Question:

Gail, great to see the site being tended to again (it seemed for awhile to be gathering dust almost)...looking great. Hope things are well with you and the family. Tell Moon I think she's a babe. Anyway...I do have a question but I fear it may be treading on delicate territory. I'm one of those Zappa fans who really digs the early Mothers Of Invention period and so am wondering if there will be any more early Mothers recordings released in the future. I'm aware of there have been problems legal and other-wise with the former members but any material from that period would be eagerly looked forward too by many fans such as myself. Thanks for your time. Also...not sure about the details and what-not but I got the impression from a message on his website that Jimmy Carl Black may be having or has had some medical problems. Beyond that I know nothing.
- Dances

Answer:

You can stop wondering - the answer is yes. And thank you for your time.

Question:

According to the last Z-album the ZFT must have had a devere problem with Mike Keneally f.e. (look how they erased his credits and - even more childish - his head by subsitituting it with a dog's head) Does that mean we will never hear or see anything from the 1988-tour again??
- Dr.Including

Answer:

There's a bunch of mixes by FZ from 1988 including material played on that tour - and great possibilities for multi-channel consideration.

Question:

What's happening with the tapes from the 200 MOTELS performances from Amsterdam in the year 2000. Will they be considered for a release or will they get broadcasted?
- Dr.Including

Answer:

Thanks for asking. First of all, only a broadcast was ever contemplated. However, the performances and even the rehearsals of 200 Motels were recorded under surreptitious circumstances in June 2002. The concert was recorded without permission and subsequently held hostage and for ransom by NPS, a government subsidized national radio station in Holland. I have never received even a description of the content, format or quality of the tapes and the demon radio station in the personages of Co de Kloet and his superior, Rob Heukels have refused to allow me to hear the original recordings. As of this date, only some lawyerly types purporting to represent my interests have advised that they "think" it's FZ's music.

Question:

Any possibility of the "Them Or Us" book being made available again? In stores or via Barfko please! Or what about a downloadable version? An ebook type thing that you pay for, then read on your computer.
- Syanshrimp

Answer:

Definitely under consideration as we are virtually sold out.

Question:

O.K, lets imagine two specific situations...
1. I have a group of orchestral musicians and want to perform such tunes as 'Bogus Bomp', 'Bob In Dacron', 'Sad Jane', 'Envelopes' and 'Mo 'N' Herb's Vacation'.

2. I have a group of rock musicians and want to perform such tunes as 'Montana', 'Dirty Love', 'Stink-foot', 'Sofa #1', and 'Black Napkins'.

What I'd like to know is, which scores should be rented / bought from Barfko Swill / Munchkin Music / Sozoarts? I can understand aquiring the orchestral works from these sources, but what's the policy if I want to get some friend's on stage and jam along with 'Watermelon In Easter Hay' or 'Willie The Pimp'?

My intention is, in the future, to put together a band to perform a Zappa repetoire. As yet, I do not have a planned set list, but would like to know how I go about getting 'permission' to perform Frank's works. After all, I don't want to step on any toes.

NP : 'The Evil Prince' by Frank Zappa
- Billy The Mountain

Answer:

Generally “classical” works, that is, orchestral and/or theatrical (literary, i.e., Joe’s Garage, Thing-Fish), require permissions and approvals for performance and for recording. Others can be performed and covered under standard or compulsory licenses. All performances must be reported to the performance agencies such as ASCAP, GEMA, etc. We're working to make exactly this information available on the site with a link to sozo arts.
In the meantime, the general rule of thumb is sozo arts rents the available scores & parts for orchestral performances; Munchkin Music is responsible for permissions and licenses for all other performances, recordings, arrangements, synchronizations, etc., etc., tributes, festivals, etc., etc., usages of trademarks, copyrights, etc., name, image & likeness of Frank Zappa.

Question:

1) are there plans to release stuff from the very early sixities and from the early Mothers?
2) i am really drooling on a release of 200 motels performed in Amsterdam 2000. Any chances for a release or at least for the (announced) radio broadcast?

3) are there plans to release SINISTER FOOTWEAR (full blown) all 3 movements? We do need that ...

finally 4) Thomas Nordegg filmed the tour in 1982. Will we get a dvd of that material?
- Sister Ob dewlla B

Answer:

1) yes.
2) a tiny maybe.
3) we do need that!
4) we are planning to incorporate Thomas Nordegg's coverage in certain DVD projects.

Question:

did i read on the michael hedges tribute page that his version of sofa was destined for a fz tribute album that dweezil was putting together? if so, is it coming/is it out/where can i buy it?
- kiwi

Answer:

Michael Hedges performed a version of Sofa for Dweezil's What In The Hell Was I Thinking - a work still in process which he will finish in the new upgraded 2003 UMRK.

Question:

thanks for answering my first round of questions. (I'm not surprised to learn my epidermal outbreak is Cheney related.)
Is there any surviving film of the MOI at the Garrick and, if so, will it be released?

Also, I was wondering if there would be a compilation of FZ snippets from shows like The Monkees, Steve Allen, Mike Douglas, and others. (The first appearance on SNL with Jodie Foster would be fun, too, but the second visit, when FZ hosted was marred by a condescending cast and mediocre scripts.)

Keep up the great work. Let me know if you need a place to stay when visiting Brooklyn.
- Adam

Answer:

O, thank you for your kind invite. We just checked out the Mike Douglas show last week. And an SNL performace is coming your way on the first official DVD-A due in January.

Question:

Will there be a release of some sort of the Beatles' material from the '88 tour? Someone (Sheik thingy) on the forum suggested streaming it on Zappa radio if the legalities prevent a CD release. Any thoughts?
- Syanshrimp

Answer:

We'll check it out and let you know soon.

Question:

It is said on the current FAQ page that the next release on Vaulternative will come out Spring 2003. What's it gonna be? Petite Wazoo? Something we never expected? When will we know?
- Syanshrimp

Answer:

DVD-A!!

Question:

The suggestion that non US residents can pay by International Money Order(IMO) me help some folks in some countries but not those of us residing in the UK. IMO's were discontinued here a few years ago as everyone, except ZFT/BS, accepts CC's nowadays so there was no demand for them.
I can get a bank draft made out in $$'s but it would cost me £25, if you add that to the cost of the disc, P&P, 17.5% VAT and customs fees a copy of FZZ will cost me almost $100 Eventually I got my copy from G&S Music but it still cost me $45.

I have CC's issued in the UK by US banks, MBNA for example, would you accept these? On the question of prices I can pick up a copy of any available FZ 2 cd set for around £15($23) in Tower or HMV so which store did you check out?

I am really fed up at having to moan all the time but I just don't understand why the business of accquiring FZ music has to be so complicated/expensive/painful.
- electricauntjemima

Answer:

Ryko has reduced the prices on the Zappa Catalog so severely that they may as well be in the cut-out bin. Granted these are titles many of which have been available for more than 30 years, but everything on Vaulternative and our other related labels is new. Perhaps we should release only single CDs in the future...

Question:

Why weren't the 1998 Remasters of You Are What You Is and Tinseltown Rebellion advertised more on Zappa.com or Rykodisc? I just got them the other day (I had to order overseas for them) and they sound fabulous. Is Spencer Chrislu going to remix and/or remaster anything else?
- muffinman72326

Answer:

Not my jurisdiction but thanks for your comment and the trouble you took. You're the reason we do these things. Re Spencer Chrislu, we have no current plans.

Question:

Hello there, hope all at fz house are well. I would just like to say ,that the sooner you get the fz dvds out,the sooner people like me .will stop being ripped off by people selling sub standard videos, cdis etc. I have been a fan for many years now ,being new to the internet. I looked on e-bay and wow lots of copys of babysnakes etc. so i ordered ,and what did i get a shite copy of a copy, mono, grainy and on 2 tapes. So please get these dvds out soon,so that i can enjoy fz the way it was ment to be perfect. Also the money goes back to you so we can have more. Thanks for your time, and keep up the good work.
- mik

Answer:

Well sorry they ripped you off but if you buy unauthorized counterfeits and bootlegs you're ripping us off as well because a) we don't get paid and b) it is certainly not the way FZ envisioned it. We are working to make them available - Baby Snakes 2003.

Question:

Hello,
On Halloween back in 1981 (i think it was '81 anyway - but i could be wrong), when I was in the Navy and living in Kansas City, I recall hearing something about Frank's New York Halloween concert being broadcast that evening - and it was being simulcast on MTV. I remember setting up my casette tape machine and FM receiver that night, carefully preparing for that concert. I remember taping it, listening to it, and quickly turning the tape over when it ran out on one side. For about fifteen years from that night, I must have played that tape a zillion times - what a wonderful set of music! I practically ruined that tape listening to it so much, and I eventually lost it.

In observing all the new activities going on with Vaulternative, etc. - I'd like to take this opportunity to offer up a suggestion to ZFT, for what it's worth, that this particular concert be considered as a candidate for a CD release on the Vaulternative label.

Thanks for this opportunity to express my opinion, and I wish you many happy releases!

By the way, I am currently enjoying the Austrailia concert CD. I feel fortunate that I got my order in early. Good job. Keep it up.

Your biggest fan in the midwest.
- sub-man

Answer:

Thank you. It currently lives in the Vault. Meanwhile in January you can experience a whole new HALLOWEEN.

Question:

1. Is the upcoming event in Los Angeles a musical concert?
2. When is the upcoming event in Los Angeles?
3. Are there plans to release Dweezil's "What the Hell Was I Thinking?" ?
4. Is there going to be any video content on the Halloween 1978 DVDA?
And thank you very much for answering my previous questions.

Sincerely,
Bill (Not Lantz)
- Bill

Answer:

1 & 2. Unfortunately we couldn't do the show in NY and the venue we wanted here in LA collapsed . . . literally.
3. Yes.
4. Yes happily!

Question:

drooling_savant wrote:
Is there any film footage of the Zanzini Bros Sodomy Trick? Whenever I listen to that bit on "PP" my imagination fails me miserably!
Seriously, was it performed in other bands? I only got to see Zappa twice in the mid seventies; Circle Star '74 and Winterland 76?77? It was at the Winterland show that I remember the band doing unspeakable things w/ drum sticks and a PINKY doll. There was also some bending over of a band member. At that time that stuff never clicked into my then severely under-developed mind.

Was that The Sodomy Trick Variations perhaps?

hairfarmer answered:
The trick is explained in "Penguin In Bondage". "Little Carl Sanzini" was, in fact, a stuffed penguin toy. The Sodomy Trick itself consisted of a hoop made from a wire coat hanger(taped to the end of a pole of some kind I assume) which would be tightly wrapped with toilet paper. The "ring of fire" would be lit on one side of the stage and little carl would be launched from the other side of the stage, like a football, with the flaming hoop as the target. Let's hear it for Conceptual Continuity! H~
- hairfarmer

Answer:

Thanks

Question:

What is Pipco?
- L_Jon_Hubbub

Answer:

See Lumpy Gravy.

Question:

I just got 3 questions.
1) Will the Does Humor Belong In Music concert video be released again?
2) Will Dweezil and Ahmet ever make some more sweet, sweet music together?
3) I heard Diva recorded an album. Where can I get my hands on this?

That is all.
- MaxPower

Answer:

1. We're looking into it, but that is under the influence of EMI apparently.
2. Dweezil recently announced "It's time to Rock" and Ahmet recently divulged "I'm ready to Rock".
3. The album currently consists of 7 tracks. You can get your hands on it right after I do.

Question:

What brand of razor does Ahmet use on his head?
- L_Jon_Hubbub

Answer:

I use a Wahl clipper. All of their products are good. I don't use a razor.
- AZ

Question:

Why were some of the links from other FZ fan sites taken down in the Links section of this site?
- josh

Answer:

We were snoozing. Then the alarm went off.

Question:

Hi Gail,
I just wanted to communicate how large an influence Frank Zappa has been in my life. I am 21 years old and was 12 when he passed away. I'd never heard of him in his lifetime and one of my biggest regrets was not having been born earlier. So now all we have are his interviews, his writings, his ideas, his images and of coarse, his music. All of them inspire me. I feel drawn to his life even after he is gone. He was that enigmatic and real.

When my wife and I decided to have a child last year, we felt and still do feel that Frank Zappa is a person that deserves more respect than he ever recieve. We name our 1st born son Charles Egon Zap Dugas

Charles after my father. Egon (which is what we call him) after my favorite artists, Egon Schiele. And Zap after Frank Zappa. Some might think it was just a neat name but I hope it carries a little bit of his energy into the future. Maybe reminding my son's generation that one of the most hip and important speakers and artists and people in the history of American socio-political Artistic frontiers was way back at the end of the 20th century and that they should check him out.

You and you husband's sensabilities and strong no bullsh*t ideals really inspire us out here.

Thank you,
Andrew Royal Dugas
- Andrew_D

Answer:

Thank you. It would seem that great taste in names as well as music runs in your family. Meanwhile, my favorite piece by Stravinsky is Agon. Check it out!

Question:

I was wondering on what 'record label' Civilization Phase III, FZ plays FZ and EIHN were released. There doesn't seem to be a recordlabel name on these albums, only the discs of Civilization are printed with the Barking Pumpin Logo.
And then there is "Zappanese", appearing on these albusm, but also appearse on the FZ : OZ album, before the copyright sign.

So maybe the ZFT is the 'bigger' brother, and Barking Pumpkin, UMRK (?) & Vaulternative are subdivisions, and Zappanese the legal copyright thing or do I see things wrong? And Barfko Swifmill would be the "shop"...

Besides, what happened to Zappa Records?

And: can one explain the vaulternative logo? what's this holy crow at three o' clock about?

I now this questions maybe won't be asked "frequently" but nonetheless, could they be answered?
- bb

Answer:

Don't hurt yourself. Relax.

Question:

Congratulations with the Vaulternative release, it's just wonderful. The idea of plenty more CDs to be released at regular intervals just makes life worthwhile. I do have one question for you though. Are there any plans to deal with the synclavier compositions (finished or unfinished) on future releases? Can you give us an idea of the number of compositions Frank was working on/had finished?
Keep up the good work and note that not all of us mind to pay premium prices for excallent releases like OZ. In life quality is always more expensive.
- daniel

Answer:

Thanks. Yes - Dance Me This is a Synclavier-realized project and there are other compositions on other albums that are in the vault. Of the more than 400 compositions in various stages of completion in the Synclavier, certain ones will be completed by Dweezil, perhaps Todd and others of them in other & various ways.

Question:

Hi All at ZFT,
A few questions:
Will the Beatles medley from '88 ever come out of the vault onto an official release?
Are there any plans to release video from the '88 tour on DVD?
Any chance of a complete '88 show being released on Vaulternative?
Assuming that the old videos make it to DVD will they be mixed in 5.1/DTS?

Looking forward to the next release(s)...........soon,

Gary
- lexman

Answer:

- Don't know.
- Not currently.
- Not no chance but not our favorite priority.
- Probably not.
- There are a few projects destined for DVD with multichannel audio. All HONKER is slated for DVD but of the "old" videos there are possibly 2 contenders.

Question:

has it occured to anyone that making a version of this site that would be accessible to blind humans might be a thing to consider? I'm not blind, but would prefer, as a lot of Zappa fans who do web work for a living, to have a simple text based alternative that doesn't force you to suffer through "design" that is approved by people who really don't spend much time on the web. Don't get me wrong, not hanging out on the web, or watching TV all the time, IS A GOOD THING. It just doesn't serve you well when you have to MAKE web sites. But heck, Zappa on the net has been a complete disaster, which considering his history of pioneering technology applications, is a sad irony.
- panky

Answer:

This is a great suggestion and if anyone has information and/or cares to volunteer to assist us in accomplishing this please let us know. Meanwhile for those highly webulated I recommend The Real Frank Zappa Book by Frank Zappa and all his lyrics on all his albums. That way you can avoid the website and revel in text that FZ intended.

Question:

Hello guys from Barfko-Swill,
I am from Brazil and would like to say 'Congratulations from this New Site - Amazing!!!!' Please, we need the Zappa`s Videos on DVD and more new releases - Dance me this, Trance-fusion, Petit... etc Any chance to see a new/re-release from Zappa this year yet?
Best regards!!!
Julio Cesar
- br-music

Answer:

HALLOWEEN, new DVD-A with video clips - January.
Trance-Fusion, CD - Fall 2003.
Thanks.

Question:

Dear ZFT
Just a few questions
1 Are you planning to release another GUITAR type album of material from the '88 tour?
2 Are you able to release on DVD the MTV special from '81?
3 Will we see any complete concerts on DVD?
4 When will OZ get to OZ( Redeye Record store ordered it back in march)
5 Do you like the idea of Pink Chalk/Black Chalk? (see posts)
Keep up the good work

BGTEO, Peace & Love
- petulant

Answer:

1. No, but Trance-Fusion will be available 2003.
2. We are able . . .
3. YES
4. We do not have a record of a Redeye order.
5. I like Pink Napkins, Black Napkins & Chalk Pie.

Question:

There's some fuss about this elsewhere on the board (thread entitled: ZFT & Ryko) so I thought I'd ask it here...
Is the distribution of the (future) albums on Vaulternative & UMRK/the ZFT going to be better in the (near) future? I mean: will I be albe to get them in my local recordshop, in Europe, without having to get myself a credit card, without having to order them via mailorder in some other country ?

Shouldn't these albums be available to everybody, not only to those who have acces to the internet?

I don't care about high prices, I just want to go out to my local shop and buy them, instead of finding a friend who has a credit card and is willing to go to all the trouble for my sake. Since I am a student, I can't get a credit card because I don't have a regular income.

If there are going to be 4, 5 release from the Vault every year, they should be distributed in a normal way for everybodies sake... Please?
- bb

Answer:

We're working on it, but we cannot afford to release at slash & burn prices and we will not risk our responsibility to the intent of the composer.
You can phone & fax in an order

You can send in a check or money order.

Hopefully we'll have releases by subscription shortly.

Question:

A couple of things....
First, thanks to the ZFT for making this website a worthwhile and entertaining place to visit.

Second....I'm keeping my fingers crossed that FZ had decent, workable tapes of the Hot Rats band performances, and next in line, the Grand Wazoo tour, next the Petit Wazoo. Whole performances would be amazing and beyond belief -- but even excerpts would be a real delight. (The same would apply to any decent film footage from the Pigs and Repugnant engagement...)

Third (and last): Several folks have mentioned Dick's Picks as a comparison point for the Vaulternative releases, and I believe it's akin to comparing apples to small nonstick kitchen utensils -- or toasters, for that matter. The Dick's Pick's recordings are NOT from an official GD vault -- they're CTs (and in many many cases, good CTs) recorded by the Taper Brigade. The cost of maintenance of the tapes is negligible; the amount of audio cleanup/remix that must be done is, compared to the audio dynamics of Zappanese music, far less rigorous; the sheer technical demands of remixing structured and intricate compositions are far greater than simply getting a good sound quality of a band who played VERY loosely structured improvisational rock -- which means employing market rate for technicians with HIGHLY advanced expertise; and face it, the Dead had (expected and embraced) dogawful moments of ineptitude and noodling sandwiched between their moments of transcendental connection -- which means that the amount of TOLERABLE mistakes/tuning problems/sound system glitches on GD tapes is FAR greater than on FZ recordings. No slam intended to Dick's Picks or the Dead, by any means --but there are decidedly specific reasons for the difference in costs between the two, and I have no problem in paying more.

OK, that wasn't the last....the LAST question I'll pose is this: Is there any significance to the fact that the list of investors in the FZZ package is printed on the opposite side of a listing of endangered and extinct species? Just a random thought....

Please keep up the great work. My best to all the family!
- TBNSlappy

Answer:

Hot Rats: isolated studio remnants only.
Grand Wazoo: we've got you covered.
Petite Wazoo: 2 finished CD projects with a possible special vinyl edition.
Garrick Theatre: footage yes but not as per Pigs & Repugnant Libretto.

Yes, and but also a new car.

And thank you and Music is the Best to you.

Question:

What's the most frequently asked question???
- AbnucealEmukaah83

Answer:

Depends on when it's asked. Lately it's mostly a) speculation and b) not addressed to me.

Question:

HI from UK. First Did Frank really hate the UK. I know he had a lot of hassle, but the true fans loved all he did. Second any news of a new book from Moon. Third will all future video/DVD be available in UK format from the wonderful G&S Music. Lastly great site keep it going.
- UKZAPP

Answer:

Hi! 1. FZ opinions of the UK were highly influenced by events personally experienced at the Rainbow, the Royal Albert Hall, Pinewood, etc. That having been said he certainly went back for more. Check out Strictly Genteel.
2. She is writing it now.
3. Disc.

Question:

I saw "Z" perform an excellent gig some years back (about '92) at King Tuts Wah Wah Hut, Glasgow, Scotland. Afterwards I asked the engineer there if he'd been recording it. He said he had. Is this true, and if so will these concerts ever be released on CD?
- HARVEY

Answer:

We want to but the medleys may be impossible to clear. Thanks.

Question:

I did not read through all the posts in this thread, but I did not see this question addressed in in the FAQ section on the What's New? page so forgive me if this is asked and answered already ...
What I really want to know is whether it is true that the late great composer made it known that he did not want anyone to play Watermelon In Easter Hay ever again after his passing. It is such a beautiful composition, one would think it could be the perfect instrument for creative and moving tributes to the great FZ. I am not asking for any kind of explanation or justification, I am merely asking for confirmation from the real authorities of what is presently a respected rumor.
- zombywoof

Answer:

He did does and will not want anyone to play Watermelon In Easter Hay, Zoot Allures or Black Napkins - other than Dweezil.

Question:

Will the ZFT please please please release some more stuff?
- Ronnys_Noomies

Answer:

Yes, yes, yes, yes.

Question:

I was browsing Barnes and Noble's website and found the Apostrophe guitar tab book is due to come out within the first few months of 2003. I honestly wasn't expecting a follow up so soon after the Hot Rats tab book. Will these releases continue at this pace (I hope)?
PS-How do you go about deciding who gets to transcribe these albums?
- Noplasticrobots

Answer:

So far Andy Aledort is doing a great job.

Question:

What was Frank like to live with?
- catpuke

Answer:

No thing.

Question:

My dog has "Ted Bundy" teeth, should I be concerned?
- catpuke

Answer:

No.

Question:

This is a question I've always wondered about: Did Frank have a particular brand of coffee that he preferred?
- Noplasticrobots

Answer:

Yes. Soon to be revealed (but that's not the name of it).

Question:

Hello:
Was wondering if the ENTIRE catalogue of FZ music has gotten the remaster treatment?

Will Beat the Boots ever be re-mastered/re-released?
- Unklejimbo

Answer:

The entire FZ Catalog was remastered throughout the 80s & 90s for the Ryko deal. That being said some should be readdressed.
We hope they will be rereleased. And you can expect a new batch.

Question:

What's it going to take to get OZ in the stores, in every retail outlet on earth. I'm sick of waiting for it to be released. It seems that there will be another ICE AGE before this happens!
- josh

Answer:

It is released. Ask your record store to stock it.

Question:

I'm pretty sure that you don't specifically need a DVD-A compatible player to enjoy the music. Any DVD player that supports DTS technology (apparently), like a Playstation 2, for example, should allow you to enjoy this release. To enjoy the enhanced resolution of the DVD-A track, you'd then need a DVD-A compatible player. I think.
- white person

Answer:

You're right. Thanks.

Question:

The Frank Scheffer documentary (2nd version) ends with The Guy With The Greatest Paid(!!) Job On Earth (TGWTGPJOE): Joe Travers, The Vaultmeister.
Hi Joe! He shows (and plays) a tape from the Cucamonga Era ('62): Guitar Trio from Cucamonga.

Questions, questions, questions:

- Will this (or ANY other stuff from that place and era) be released in any way?
- Did it indeed come from the Paul Buff 5 track machine, and if so, how was it played back; if not: where did it come from?
- If this tape survived, did the infamous 'Detective Willis' tape survive?

AAAFNRAA!!!!!!!!

Corné
- AAAFNRAA

Answer:

You're good. Answers, answers, answers: yes, no, Studio Z was thoroughly raided and none of the confiscated tapes were returned.

Question:

Studebaker wrote: There's a whole cd of Cucamonga-era Zappa tracks, but it wasn't released on Ryko or Barking Pumpkin records. I think it's called 'Rare Meat', but I don't have it myself. Perhaps someone else knows more about this release...

AAAFNRA responded: I know, I've got the CD. I am wondering about the actual 5 track tapes though, because the CD was created from 2 track masters. The tape Joe was showing and playing, might be one of the original 5 track tapes..... To my knowledge, that track (Guitar trio) was never ever oficialy released. Must be lots of other ones like that...
- AAAFNRAA

Answer:

Joe was playing a 2 track labeled "Gtr Trio" in early FZ hand.

Question:

Do you guys have any old Zappa songs/albums that have never been released? If so do you ever plan on relesing them on CD?
- Sleep Dirt

Answer:

We have a few options in terms of ancient recordings, few options in unreleased ancient songs & many possibilities on more recent material.

Question:

Are there any plans to re-print the Frank Zappa Guitar Book? Additionally, are the any plans to release new transcription tomes (like the Hot Rats one)?
- vaylor

Answer:

We're looking into the Frank Zappa Guitar Book so we can give you a real answer. And yes, Hot Rats is available and Apostrophe (') is coming right up.

Question:

Does Zappa Radio take requests? I am making a christmas wish list, and this is a great way to preview albums I have not heard.
- VapoSlob

Answer:

Yes, we will be taking & making requests. As for previewing - we already are but apparently you are all keeping your comments to yourself.
